The Donar DE-XRT Pro is an advanced e-waste sorter that combines dual-energy X-ray transmission, high-resolution RGB imaging, and artificial intelligence. This hybrid technology allows metals, plastics and other materials present in complex WEEE streams to be accurately identified and separated.

The system analyzes both the absorption and penetration of X-rays in each material and its surface characteristics detected by RGB. In this way, you can recover materials such as copper, aluminum, gold, silver, and plastics, increasing recovery rates and reducing reliance on manual sorting.

Dual-energy and RGB X-ray sorting

The technology works with two levels of energy:

Low-energy X-rays: 20–50 keV
High-energy X-rays: 80–150 keV

Each material responds differently to both levels. This difference is measured by the DER dual-energy ratio, which allows materials to be distinguished with high accuracy. The RGB image adds an additional layer of analysis based on the visual and surface characteristics of the material.

Thanks to the combination of DER + RGB, the Donar DE-XRT Pro can differentiate materials with high precision, even in highly complex e-waste streams.

Plastic

Plastic exhibits high absorption at low energy and low absorption at high energy.

Aluminum

Aluminium shows an intermediate behaviour between plastics and denser metals.
